For reference, the Terra Rotary vise will consistently hold an Eagle Claw 570 4/0 hook (.039" wire diameter) or Eagle Claw 635 5/0 (.060" wire diameter) with up to a 1 ounce total jig weight.
poor quality vice, it does hold a hook half way decent but i would not consider it a rotary vise. When turning the handle to rotate the vise it either loosens the vise so that it will fall out or it tightens the vise up so you can't turn it depending on which way the handle is turned .I would not recommend this vise even for a beginner wanting to tie flies.
