Powder Paint is an epoxy paint in a powder form. The paint is cured by a heat cycle. Basic procedure is to dip a heated item (jig head) into the powder. The heat causes a layer of powder to adhere to the item and flow into a smooth, hard coating.

Powder Paints will settle and pack slightly over time. Shake or mix Powder Paint before using. Powder paint is packaged by weight not volume. Each color is a different weight so each bottle will be filled to a different level. All bottles will contain at least 2oz. of paint.

Please Note: The final color of some of the powder paints do not look like the color that they are in the bottle. The heat curing process makes them change color to the appropriate final color.

    disco fire tiger

Posted by Joseph on Oct 4th 2024

It looks nothing like the picture which is a chartreuse dominant color. The truth is it a dark dark green with flakes that symbolize nothing like fire tiger. It is a very heavy powder that has a thick texture. I suppose it might look better if coated with a clear gel coat. I am actually disappointed.

I think it took less than 48hrs to get my assortment of powder paints. The finished product looks great and they’re easy to use.

    3022 - Not really purple

Posted by Finished color may be different than photo. on Apr 26th 2021

Love this product! Heat up your jig, a bit of an art, and then finish in a toaster over for a long lasting finish. The 3022, here looks like more of a purple than anything, which I was looking for. Once finished, it is more of a green/brown, with a slight color shift of purple. Just a heads up! Overall, excellent quality product.

    Great product and price!

This powder paint works great and Barlow’s has the best selection I have seen anywhere! I heat my metal with a heat gun for around 30-35 seconds, dip it, and then hit it again with the heat gun to make sure everything is set. Will be buying again.

Easy to Use for a Durable High Gloss Finish

Posted by Bert on Sep 21st 2020

I’ve been painting large flutter jigs (6 and 9 oz.) for saltwater fishing. This powder paint is easy to apply and cures super hard. Hang in a small toaster oven and cure for 20 minutes per directions.
